Expectations from a live show, to make it worth you coming out

Hi Bone Trigger Friends
I am wondering what all you live entertainment fans expects from the millions of bands out there.
I have seen many bands and performed with many, and one thing that always crosses my mind about alot of them, althou good musicians, is what it is that makes me forget about them so quickly among other acts that have stuck in my mind even days after.
I think it's the fact that many bands look so danm alike and  put no effort into their live shows with the exception of music, and if i'm witnessing a band for the first time, i will rarely remember songs especially lyrics, but i will remember energy and theatrics. I guess that's why the big stars are the stars or is it just effort.
I tend to remember the bands that have something extra that attracts me to further listen to them again and attend another live event as well incorporate them into my conversation the next day, you know "the word of mouth".
It's very rarely that i walk into a venue and know who's the performer or fan, maybe it doesnt matter but if you're a musician are'nt you suppose to entertain people and make it worth their money and time. I am always looking for ways to improve and entertain.
I know the music is very important and some will say it's all about the songs and i say your right if I'm listening to your CD or the radio, but first impressions isn't about just the song its also about how you translate that song to visuals and i sometimes think some just hide behind the song thing then rather put effort into antics and persona.
Being a song writer and a performing musician myself I get it, this thing about "it's about the song" but it is my duty to entertain you all and make you forget the troubles of your life for that hour.
So i ask you all to take the time to comment and tell me what you hate, like, expect from bands at their live shows and what it would take for you to come back.
